Isabell Herek

On April 25, 2012 Angels came to take our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to her heavenly home and reunite her with the love of her life, her late husband, Edward.

Isabell, age 93, was born June 28, 1918 in Portage County. She was the daughter of the late George and Pauline (Modrzewski) Betro. Isabell was the last living member of her family.

She married Edward Herek on November 4, 1936 at St. Mary’s of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher. After their marriage, the couple settled in the Town of Stockton. Her husband preceded her in death on October 10, 1995.

Isabell was a devoted Catholic and prayed the rosary daily. She was a lifetime member of the St. Mary’s Rosary Society.

She enjoyed gardening and flowers, doing arts and crafts, picture puzzles and playing cards. Her most precious time was visitng with her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.

Survivors include her six daughters: Bridget (Norbert) Sankey of Stevens Point, Bertha (Allan) Schiefelbein of Wausau, WI, Joan (Dave) Rozenberg of Amherst, Henrietta (Tim) Ryan of Willard, MO, Patricia (Darrell) Wroblewski of Stevens Point and Diane (Marvin) Iwanski of Green Bay, WI.

Further survived by thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren, twenty great-great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. One sister–in-law: Irene Betro.

Isabell was preceded in death by her husband: Edward, three daughers, one son, one grandson, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, seven sisters and five brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 28, 2012 at St. Mary’s of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher. Rev. Robert Pedretti officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road, Plover, and from 9:30 AM Saturday at St. Mary’s Church in Fancher until the time for mass.
