Harvey F. Hellmuth, age 80, of the Town of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at his home.

He was born Oct. 26, 1931 in Portage County. He is the son of the late August and Violet (Sherman) Hellmuth.

His marriage to Catherine Losinski took place on June 18, 1955 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. She survives.

Harvey served in the National Guard for a number of years. He worked previous jobs, retiring from Georgia Pacific with 24 years of service.

He enjoyed wood carving, especially Indians and bears. He loved his many pet horses and his favorite companion, Bandit.

A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

Survivors include his wife: Catherine, one daughter: Cynde (Bernie) Bannach of Stevens Point, three grandsons: Justin (Ashley), Kurtis (Stacey) & Bernie Kyle Bannach. Two great-grandsons: Bryce & Aiden Bannach. One step-great-granddaughter: Mercedes Lowell. One sister: Fern (Lawrence) Laskowski of Stevens Point.

He was preceded in death by infant siblings and one sister, Katherine Hellmuth.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home at 2911 Plover Road in Plover. Burial will take place at Liberty Corners Cemetery in the Town of Buena Vista. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of services Saturday morning at the Funeral Home.
