Dorothy M. Wasniewski:

77, of 246 Fourth Ave, Stevens Point, died April 13, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. She was born on June 10, 1934, in Bevent. She was the daughter of the late Leonard & Estelle (Gross) Dombeck. Dorothy graduated from Rosholt High School in 1952.

Her marriage to John Wasniewski took place on April 28, 1956 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. They lived in Muskegon, Michigan, before moving to Stevens Point in 1968. Her husband, John, died on May 31, 2010.

She was employed at J.C. Penny for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family, sewing, quilting, camping, cooking, and volunteering. She was a member of the St. Peter’s Rosary Society Rose #5

Survivors include her seven children: Cathy (Roger) Gorius, Tracy, MN, Carla (Dave) Zick, Wausau, John L. (Karen) Wasniewski, Gold Hill, OR, Maria (Guy) Janssen, Stevens Point, Lance (Theri) Wasniewski, Brainerd, MN, Louis (Hilary) Wasniewski, Idaho Falls, ID, Amy (Aaron) Parks, Stevens Point, and 17 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

Also surviving are four brothers: Daniel Dombeck, Thermopolis, WY, Jerome (Linda) Dombeck, Rhinelander, Jim Dombeck, Rhinelander, Mike (Pat) Dombeck, Stevens Point, and one sister: Loretta Lukas, New Berlin.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V. will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Ladislaus parish cemetery in Bevent.

Visitation on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the St. Faustina Room at the church. St. Peter’s Rosary Society will pray the rosary at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.
