Late Sunday evening, April 22, 2012 Mayola died at Ministry-St. Michael's Hospital and was joined with the angels in heaven.
Mayola was born May 9, 1921 in Amherst, WI. She was the daughter of the late Roman and Martha (Mager) Zblewski. On November 28, 1940 she was united in marriage to Herbert Kubicki at St. Mary’s of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher. After his death on January 6, 1968, she married Frank Peplinski in 1977 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Her husband, Frank, preceded her in death on December 20, 1995. Mayola retired after nearly ten years of service at Sentry Insurance. Over the past thirteen years, she volunteered at the Lincoln Center. She also spent many Saturday mornings volunteering for the Share Program. Mae’s world revolved around her two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their activities and would always make sure to leave at least a dollar behind when she left. Her contagious smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a very devote Catholic and prayed the rosary daily. She was also a long time member of St. Peter's Rosary Society Rose 15. In her younger years, she enjoyed cooking and baking (especially Ponczkas), and loved sharing a good meal with her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed singing in the choir, reading, playing cards and watching the Brewers and Packers. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date. Mae was loved and will be deeply missed by her daughter: Diane (Richard) Strojny of Stevens Point whom she lived with. Her grandson: Scott (Kathy) Strojny, and their children: Jenna and Alex of Stevens Point, and her granddaughter: Sheri (Wade) Peitersen and their children: Morgan and Mason of Neenah, WI. A brother: Roman (Delores) Zblewski of Hatley, and a sister: Elsie Hytry of Stevens Point. Mae is further survived by two sisters-in-law: Ramona Kubicki and Lucille Kubicki both of Stevens Point, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
