Of Stevens Point, died early Friday morning, May 18, 2012 at Sylvan Crossing in Stevens Point. Age 81, Loretta was born April 9, 1931 in Rosholt, WI. She is the daughter of Laura (Stroik) Mlodik- Woloshek of Stevens Point, and the late Henry Mlodik. Her marriage to Chester Laska took place on October 16, 1948 at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Rosholt. After their marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband, Chet, preceded her in death on February 18, 1988. She then married Ernest Simkowski on June 23, 1990 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Her husband, Ernie, survives. Loretta worked at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in the food service area for almost twenty years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society of St. Joseph Church, St. Stanislaus Rosary Society and the Catholic Women's Club. Loretta enjoyed gardening, doing arts and crafts, sewing and loved cooking for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date. Survivors include her husband: Ernie Simkowski of Stevens Point. Three daughters: Bonita (James) Kopchinski of Beldenville, WI, Catherine (Dave) Krutza and Tammy (William) Singer both of Stevens Point. One son: Todd (Desiree) Laska of Stevens Point. Further survived by one brother: Gerald (Joanne) Mlodik of Stevens Point, and one sister: Henrietta Gilmeister of Stevens Point. Two step-children: John (Janet) Simkowski of Stevens Point and Patty Simkowski of Madison. Eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Hubert, and on step-daughter: Bonnie Warzinik. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Fr. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, and from 10:00 AM Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's Church until the time of mass.
