Alanna Marie Kosmalski

Alanna Marie Kosmalski, 68, of Rosholt, WI passed away unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Alanna was born on February 6, 1956, in Stevens Point to Beatrice and Ferdinand Simonis. She attended St. Josaphat's Catholic School and graduated from Bay View High School in Milwaukee. On the stormy day of June 12, 1976, she married Michael John Kosmalski at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Rosholt. Alanna worked at Sentry Insurance during her first years of marriage before starting a family, then to which she focused on raising her 8 children. Alanna was deeply rooted in her faith as an active member of the Catholic church and believed deeply in prayer and the Holy Rosary. Alanna was an advocate for her children's education and was proud of their accomplishments- she never missed an opportunity to highlight her children's careers and the successes of her grandchildren.

Alanna loved visiting with others, playing cards and dice, braiding rag rugs that she learned to do from her great-grandmother, and enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Alanna was a fantastic cook; she preserved most foods from her garden ensuring that everyone was well fed during and after any visit. In recent years, Alanna enjoyed spending time at their "Pinery Woods" cabin in Lake Tomahawk, WI on Horsehead Lake.

Alanna is survived by her 8 children, Catherine (Jeremy) Miller- Rosholt, Rebecca (Kyle) Stein- Lake Mills, Michael (Erin) Kosmalski- Prescott, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Black- Frankfort, IL, Michelle (Chris Krco) Kosmalski- Milwaukee, Patricia (Christian Fikar) Mersch- Germany, Emmiline (David) Willox- Marshall, and Gabriel Kosmalski- Chicago, IL; and 14 grandchildren, Jared, Joshua, Malachi, Collin, Claire, Caitlin, Aiden, Liam, Valente, Fernandina, Nadine, Rachel, Amelia, and Edith; and 15 siblings, Beverley (Mansavage), Alicia (Kostuch), Bryon, Claude, Alan, Daryl, Collett (Jankowski), Anita (Garski), Frederick, Cerise (Pezewski), David, Gerard, Melissa (Frost), Perry, and Avery.

Alanna was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Virginia Kosmalski (father and mother in-law), Zachary Simonis (brother), and other relatives and loved ones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Rosholt. A visitation will be held prior to the mass beginning at 9:00 AM, and a rosary will be said at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be given for memorials to be determined at a later date.
