Alice Mary
Rekowski
May 31, 1936 – August 16, 2025
Alice Rekowski, 89, of Wittenberg, passed away on August 16, 2025, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Tracy Rekowski, who graciously cared for and took her into their home where she could be surrounded by family as she left this earth. Alice was also blessed by the assistance of her granddaughter Melissa's care.
Alice Mary Rekowski was born at home, to Leo and Esther Kaminski in the town of Alban, on May 31, 1936, one of 12 children. She grew up on the family farm and attended St. Adalbert School.
On April 11, 1959, Alice married Alfred Rekowski at St. Adalbert Church in Rosholt. They established their own farm and grew their family to include nine children. Alice enjoyed all things farming and gardening and loved spending time with her large family. She liked to give her grand-dogs, Molly and Buster, rides on her Kawasaki UTV. Alice was a member of St. Adalbert's Rosary Society and volunteered at church picnics and events.
Alice is survived by her children: Ronnie Rekowski, Lee (Julie) Rekowski, Diana Pitcher, Nancy (Kevin) Michelkamp, David Rekowski, Barbara (Kenneth) Kenowski, Marie (Mike) McGrath, and Peter (Tracy) Rekowski; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren plus two on the way.
She is also survived by her siblings: Felix Kaminski, Benedict (Geraldine) Kaminski, Celia (Edward 'John') Konkol, Leona (Earl) Drefcinski, Leonard Kaminski and Michael Kaminski. Surviving in-laws include Jeanette Kaminski, Joella (Harry) Stoltz, Joe Rekowski, Clarence (Mari) Rekowski, Rita Lorbecki, Gerald (Bernadine) Rekowski and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; father- and mother-in law, Alois and Teckla Rekowski; her husband Alfred, son Steve and a grandson; siblings: Marion (James) Schultz, Andrew Kaminski, Grace (Leroy) Shulfer, Theodore (Natalie) Kaminski, Rosalyn Kaminski; and in-laws: Marilyn Kaminski, Evelyn Rekowski, Conrad Lorbecki.
A special thanks to Aspirus' Dr. Tariq and ICU nurse, Dana, along with St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care of Alice.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, 3315 St. Adalberts Road, Rosholt. Fr. Francis Dias will officiate.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point. A parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Monday morning at St. Adalbert's Church from 9:30 AM until time of service.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
