Alvinia A. King, age 84, died peacefully at home, on July 14, 2023. Alvinia was born at home, on the family farm in the town of Eau Plaine, on February 11, 1939, the youngest of 13 children, to the late Joseph and Frances (Kieliszewski) Kawlewski .
She attended Marion School in the town of Eau Plaine and Graduated from PJ Jacobs High School, Stevens Point in 1957.
She married Albert R. King on February 8, 1958, at Saint Michaels Catholic Church, Junction City, WI. They were married 64 years before Albert died in 2022.
Anyone who knew Alvinia knew she was a hard worker. She always made sure the cows were milked, the hay was stacked in the barn and the wood was split and piled. In addition to working on the farm, she worked at Woodward Governor, and Stora Enso in Stevens Point. She was a CCD teacher and 4-H Club Leader.
She had a love of collecting tea pots and orphaned animals. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, making quilts for the family, canning and birdwatching. She was an excellent cook and baker, making and decorating Wedding and birthday cakes for not only her children, grandchildren and siblings, but numerous nieces, nephews and friends. When company stopped by, if you didn't stay for dinner, there was always at least, a cup of coffee and something that she had probably baked that morning to enjoy.
She is survived by her children, Marcella Johnston, Rudolph, Marguerite Simkowski (Dennis), Stevens Point, Charlene Zagrzebski (Thomas) Rudolph, and Conrad King (Susan) Rudolph; two sisters Christine Garski, and Eleanor Grywacz, both from Stevens Point; brother-in-law Tom King of Stevens Point and sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Kawlewski, Milwaukee, Donna Glazer, and Maxine King, both of Stevens Point and Janet Grochowski (Kevin), Marsing, Idaho; she was "Busia" to 11 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren, and her faithful 4-legged friend, Bambi; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Valeria; nine brothers, Andrew, Walter, Edward, Sylvester, Edwin, Henry, Robert, Martin & Thomas.
