Anthony (Tony) Danczyk, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born at home on July 15, 1938, the eldest of eleven children, the son of the late Felix and Regina (Dulak) Danczyk. He grew up on the family farm and attended the Liberty Bell school in the Town of Dewey. He graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1956.
He was employed by AT&T for 33 years, working throughout Wisconsin and in many states. After his retirement from AT&T, he worked for the Mosinee Telephone Company for a number of years.
Tony met the love of his life, Lorraine Toboyek, while they were both working in Milwaukee in 1960. They were married at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Peplin on May 26, 1962. They had three children: Kathy, Karen, and Greg.
Tony enjoyed traveling with his family and visited all 50 states and 25 countries. He was very skilled in doing home improvements and loved teaching the younger generations his skills.
Tony was the Town of Dewey Clerk for 30 years, and a member of Moose Lodge #1572. He was a member of St. Casimir's Catholic Church his entire life and volunteered to do their finances for many years. He was also an usher and Eucharistic Minister. In addition, he was a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1170. Tony was very dedicated to his religion and set time aside daily for his prayers.
Tony also enjoyed volunteering for the Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners where he traveled on five mission trips to Nicaragua; he also volunteered for many years at the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh with the Telephone Pioneers.
Tony is survived by his wife, Lorraine, of nearly 62 years; his daughters, Kathy Danczyk and Karen (Frank) McLaughlin, and son, Greg (Jennifer) Danczyk; grandchildren, Sean and Kylie McLaughlin, and Justin and Jenna Danczyk; siblings, Frank (Danae) Danczyk, Al Danczyk, Jean (Dave) Francois, Pat (Leon Byrd) Roberts, Len (Alexandra Roberts) Danczyk, Dorothy (Mark) Rice, Rita (Bob) Weber, and Tom (Debby) Danczyk; sister-in-law Sandi Danczyk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty and his brother Bob.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Tony will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. Casimir's Catholic Church, 203 West Casimir Road, Stevens Point. Rev. John Potaczek will officiate, and Deacon Ray Heitzinger will assist. Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 2024, from 4 pm, ending with a Parish Rosary at 7 pm, at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point, and again on Saturday, April 20 at 9:30 am until the time of service at the church.
