Anthony "Tony" R. Bronk

July 25, 1951 — September 30, 2022

Stevens Point

Anthony, for short, "Tony" or "Buddy" Bronk was born July 25, 1951, In Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Tony Served his country in the Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was stationed in Germany.

He studied Communication and English at UW-Stevens Point

In Tony's younger days his venturous spirit led to many exploits with friends at the Black Bridge as was told in many great tales by him, which evolved into the man who created many paintings and wrote poetry as bright and expressive as his stories.

He was known for his colorful paintings and the art shows he organized. He was the Director for the art gallery in the Historic Fire House No. 2 on Strongs Avenue, which was established to raise money for the Portage County Historical Society. He volunteered his time and many of his paintings were displayed at the Riverfront art Center.

Tony's bright and cheerful paintings will continue to remind us of the bright and colorful wardrobe we often saw Tony in.

Tony loved to write poetry and had three books of poetry that he loved sharing with friends and family.

Along with his art and poetry he had his collection of drums and loved getting together with friends to play. He would invite everyone over for food and music.  Dinners with friends, family and conversation on multiple subjects were his favorite.

He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He could watch episodes of old comedies over and over and laugh just as hard for each of them as he did the first time he saw them.

He enjoyed going fishing and with his children and continued that with his grandchildren.  Another activity that Tony loved to do with both his children and grandchildren was sledding or tubing in the Wintertime.

Anthony is survived by his wife Sandra (DuPree) Bronk, son Ashley (Holly) Bronk, daughter Amy Flagel, sisters Shirley Bronk and Joanne Haye and three grandchildren Collin Flagel, Alexander Flagel, and Chloe Flagel.

He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Bronk, mother Irene (Schultz) Rader, step father Joseph Rader, sister Christine Ballo and brother Joseph Rader.

Transcendence to Abstract Painting

By: Tony Bronk

What a celebrated moment

that first moment would be.

I decided to paint abstracts

and paint as I please.

I would form all the shapes

and designs as ever I like,

and mix the colors however I see,

if I saw some in my dreams,

then that's how they'd be.

Easel in its place

brushes and paints side by side

It's all up to me

Ever since that momentous day.

I've known near nothing sweeter.

I've gone to my painter's room

for comfort and prayer.

I make life seem different.

It looks like another world

but it's a world that I love creating

for each world is mine.

I'm all yours, Tony

they all are fond of saying

please do as you "please."
