Tony & Sharon (Copeland) were friends in high school in the 1960's when he was drafted, they wrote each other often.  These letters from overseas developed into a romance.  They were married August 16, 1969. And just celebrated 54 years of marriage. They welcomed two children into their lives, Traci and Nick.

Tony enjoyed many things both outdoors and indoors.  He played softball for Tom & Mary Ann's Bar into his 30's. He also bowled for them.  He loved to fish, hunt, golf, camp, and garden, roses, veggies, and cactus.  He was a founding member of the Central WI Rose Society.  Out of the 74 roses he grew, he won the People's Choice award for several years at the First National Bank's Annual Rose Show.   On his trips with friends to the casinos he'd play blackjack. He liked reading western novels, to play cribbage and try to beat Sharon, pinochle, and watching the games; Badgers, Packers, and Brewers.  He enjoyed traveling with Sharon and showing his kids places in the US when they were growing up.  In addition to his 26 years of being paraplegic, Tony suffered from dementia the last six years.  He enjoyed life and being at home.  He was still laughing at TV comedies to the end.
