Barbara Mansavage

January 3, 1943 — June 23, 2021

Barbara M. Mansavage, age 78, of Stevens Point, died unexpectedly, Wednesday June 23, 2021, at Ascension St. Michaels Hospital. She was born Jan. 3, 1943, in Whiting, WI. She is the daughter of the late Bernard & Theresa (Sankey) Wysocki.

Barb attended St. Peter's and St. Stephen's elementary schools and Maria High School until her family moved to Oshkosh where Barb graduated from Oshkosh Senior High on June 8, 1961.

She returned to Stevens Point and was married to Donald Mansavage, her high school sweetheart, on June 23, 1962, at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Barb was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 26, and though she struggled with constant pain, she lived each day to the fullest. She demonstrated courage, kindness and selflessness. Barb was truly a humble servant of God. In addition to raising their family of six children, she was employed by Sentry Insurance.

Her passions in life were family, flower gardening, cooking and baking (everyone loves a good cookie). Gifting cookies was her trademark. After retirement, Barb became involved with her parish grief ministry and volunteering with Hospice. She helped raise her grandchildren and attended their sporting and school events. Her compassion, wisdom and guidance will be greatly missed.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband Donald, July 4 th , 2020, her parents and her youngest brother James.

She is survived by her children, one son, Kurt (Maria) Mansavage, five daughters, Mary McFerrin, Christi (Derek) Nelson, Wendy Fish (Jeff Hininger), Lisa (Gordon) Lau and Annie (Shawn) Sweeney.

Her fourteen grandchildren:  Andrew (Erin) McFerrin and Collin McFerrin; Austin, Karisa and Colton Mansavage; Alex, Maddie, Sam and Sophie Nelson; Ilana (Tyler) Nalbach and Lauren Fish; William and Lukas Lau; and Theo Sweeney.

Further survived by her siblings: Joe (Betty) Wysocki, Lloyd (Barb) Wysocki, Louise (Howard) Schneider, Eunice (Dieter) Wilkinson and Patti Wysocki (Dawn Bratz).

Brothers and sisters-in-law; Robert Mansavage, Mary Ann (Robert) Kowalski, Dorothy (David) Kluck, Carol (Raymond) Zdroik, Marjorie (Mike) Bigalke, Thomas (Vicki) Mansavage, Shirlee (Donald) Schaefer, Eleanor (Michael) Mallek, Nancy (Kris) Konopacky, James (Kathy) Mansavage, Gary Mansavage and Jeanett (Chris) Neuwirth.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 1, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Rev. Edward Shuttleworth will Officiate. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of mass at the Church on Thursday July 1st. In lieu of flowers donations to Pacelli Catholic Education Fund are welcome. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
