Barbara A. Schelke

Barbara A. Schelke 91, of Stevens Point passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 28, 2024. Barbara was born on May 28, 1932, to the late Leo and Emma (Ciecholinski) Frymark. She attended local schools graduating from P. J. Jacobs High School.

Her marriage to Robert Schelke took place on June 10, 1952, at St. Peters Catholic Church, after the marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband Robert died on November 28, 1999.

Barbara spent much of her career as a legal secretary at several local law firms. She later took on the position as St. Peters Church Secretary.

Barbara was a long-time member of St. Peters adult choir. She was often asked to sing for both weddings and funerals. She was also a member of the adult choir at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, getting together with her sisters to sing in three-part harmony, watching the birds, crocheting and knitting.

Survivors include her son, Richard (Kimberly) Schelke.

Grandchildren; Brendon (Courtney), Heidi (Scott) and Marissa. Further survived by a daughter in law, Patricia Carroll and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty and Mary, Stepfather, Joseph Soik and her niece, Barbara Bodge.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 6, 2024, at St. Casimir Catholic Church 203 Casimir Road Stevens Point. Rev John Potaczek will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation on Tuesday from 9:30a.m. until time of service at the church.
