Beverly Ann Kowalski

July 9, 1942 — July 6, 2024

Stevens Point

Beverly Ann Kowalski, age 81 of Stevens Point, died at her home Saturday, July 6, 2024 with her daughter by her side holding her hand and family close by.

Beverly was born July 9, 1942 in Stevens Point to the late John and Phyllis (Woyak) Meronek on a hot summer day at their home, where her favorite 16-year-old Aunt Camille Woyak was charged with keeping her cool and comfortable.

Beverly worked at several places in her lifetime, most notably the Stevens Point Bakery, Sentry Insurance and Val's Citgo Gas Station.

Beverly met her husband, Jerome Kowalski, when she was 16 and tagged along with her sister Irene to see Irene's boyfriend at the time, Ray Shuda, who was the founder of the Ray Shuda Polka band with Jerry playing the trumpet.

After a few years of dating, Beverly and Jerry were married on April 15, 1961 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Jerry preceded her in death on October 21, 2016.

Beverly was mostly a homebody but enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, going to rummage sales, being in her yard and firepit fires along with her bottles of Point Special Beer. Beverly's greatest joy was being a mother to her three children, and grandmother to her grandchildren

. Beverly is survived by her son Jeremy (Sandi) Kowalski of Stevens Point, and daughter Jennifer Pawelski of Stevens Point, and grandchildren Ariane, Kyla, Kenneth and Kyle, and a sister Patricia Zdroik.

In addition to her parents and husband Jerry, she was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Kowalski, sister Barbara Clussman and brother-in-law William Clussman, her sister Irene Shuda along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and other relatives.

The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice Care of Plover for their care and compassion with the family during this difficult time.
