Brenda Joyce (Barden) Karcheski
Age 79 was called home the evening of Thursday, August 19, 2021 with her loving family at her side at Ascension St. Michaels Hospital while battling a long health issue.
Brenda was born January 8, 1942 in Stevens Point to Minnie Louise (Callows) Barden and the late Claude Byron Barden. Brenda lived in Portage County, Stevens Point all her life. She attended a one room country school (River Valley School) through 8 th grade, and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1960.
Brenda married her sweet heart from high school Carl J. Karcheski on November 11,1961.
Together they had two sons, Jeffrey Jerome Karcheski and Timothy Joseph Karcheski. Brenda was a teacher's aide at Jackson school in her early years, then became a Domestic Engineer in helping raise her six grandchildren.
Jeff and Sue (Kulas) Karcheski gave Brenda and Carl three grandchildren; Kyle Karcheski, Tyler Karcheski and Jenna Karcheski. Son Tim gave Brenda and Carl three grandsons; Dustin Karcheski, Dylan Karcheski and Dayne Karcheski. His wife Barbara (Kuklinski) added to the family three step grandchildren LeaAnn, Amanda and Samantha, along with ten great grandchildren and three more on the way from Dustin (Holly) in September and Dayne (Savannah) Karcheski in December and Amanda is due in the next month.
Survivors include her husband Carl of Stevens Point, her mother Minnie Barden of Stevens Point, her two sons Jeff (Sue) Karcheski of Plover and Tim (Barb) Karcheski of Plover. Her brother Carl and his wife Pat (Lean) Barden, her two sisters Sandra Barden ( Tony) Zalewski and her sister Pamela Barden .
Nephews Chris and Matthew Barden and Nieces Debra Jakusz, Cherye Rolnicki and Cindy Milkowski.
Brenda's most precious time was being with her family. She enjoyed reading and crocheting, tending to her flower garden every year, taking trips each year and going up North to a friend's cottage with all of her family, especially with the grandkids.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father and one step grandson Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point. Family and friends may visit from 9:30 A.M. Thursday morning at St. Bronislava Church until the time for Mass. Brenda's family would like to personally say "Thank You" to the staff at Ascension St. Michaels Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield for their loving care given to our mother the past few months.
