Brian S. Rutta, age 51, of Amherst passed away May 13, 2022, at UW Madison Hospital.
He was born August 12, 1970, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Leona (Niewinski) Rutta. Brian graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High in 1989. After graduation he worked at Sentry Insurance for over 25 years, most of them as a Senior Claims Adjuster.
Brian met his wife Chris while working at Sky Club during high school. They were united in marriage on August 13, 1994, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. They made their home and raised two sons in Amherst.
Brian enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, attending his sons' sporting events and spending time with his family and beloved pets. Brian was not a huge traveler but did take a road trip with his family in 2010 to Bald Head Island, North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife Chris, sons Parker and Carson, parents Raymond and Leona Rutta, sister Tammy (Lance) Stampfli, brother Todd (Rose) Rutta, four nephews, three nieces, two great nieces, one great nephew and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his godparents Marvin and Mary Graveen.
The family would like to thank the physicians and staff of St. Michaels Hospital, Marshfield Hospital, and UW Madison Hospital for the care, compassion, love, dignity, and understanding while caring for Brian.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Brian will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 18, 2022, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church 3200 Plover Road Plover. Rev. Ed Shuttleworth will officiate.
Visitation on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
