Candace Ann Simonis came to the end of her life on Monday, February 28, 2022 from complications, waiting for a lung transplant.
She began her life on December 8th 1970, in Stevens Point, a daughter of Leroy and Darlene (Newby) Simonis.
Candi graduated from SPASH in the class of1989, the era of rock and roll and big hair bands. One of her favorite bands was Duran Duran.
She was known for her love of animals. Some of her favorite hobbies was camping and swimming at the beach with her family during the summer season.
She started working at Travel Guard for several years and then moved on to Lands End for several more. Her last job was as a dispatcher at CN Railroad in Stevens Point from where she retired, all while being a full-time mother to her two sons, Levi and Trey Slowinski.
She was married to Bob Slowinski, the couple later divorced.
Survived by; her parents; her sons; her partner of 11 and a half years, Bob Vorpahl, her siblings, Cindy Pitcher Flynn, Perry Simonis, Lance (Tammy) Simonis, and Scott Simonis; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Candi was preceded in death by; her brother, Lenny Pitcher; grandmothers and grandfathers; and several aunts, uncles and cousins on each side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bronislava Catholic Church, 3200 Plover Rd, Plover, WI, at 11:00AM on Friday, March 4, 2022 with Rev. Eric Mashak presiding. Burial will follow in the Plover Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the church on Friday from 10:00AM until the time of the Mass.
