Carl "Chen Hui" Lee of Stevens Point passed away peacefully on Dec. 30th.
Born in Keelung Taiwan, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Forestry from National Taiwan University in Taipei. After graduating, he became a teaching assistant there for one year. He then came to the United States to study at Michigan State University where he earned a Master's degree and also a PhD.
Carl was then appointed as a Professor of Forestry at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he taught and did research for over 30 years. His specialty was Forest Genetics and he enjoyed teaching classes to his students as well as publishing internationally-acclaimed research papers.
Carl was an avid classical music lover and enjoyed attending concerts.
Swimming was a favorite activity of his and he also loved baseball. He enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with his family. Carl is survived by his wife Susan, daughter San San, and son Eric as well as grandchildren Sophie and Zachary.
