Carol Jean Pliska , 83 of Plover, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 20th, 2025. Carol was born on March 3rd, 1943 to Joseph and Laura (Betker) Eickendorf. She married Richard Pliska on August 31st, 1963 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Together they raised 4 loving children. Richard preceded his wife of 46 years in death on November 30th, 2009.


Carol devoted her working life to the food service industry at UW-Stevens Point and was considered a "mother to all". She loved to tend to her garden, test her luck at gambling, and hang out with her grandson, Zach. She loved watching the birds and even collected hummingbird and angel figurines.


Carol was a proud member of the Auxiliary of both the Plover 10262 Post and the American Legion Post 6. She served as president of both organizations in the 1990s.


Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; parents Joseph and Laura; brothers, Michael and Roman Eickendorf; sisters, Jeanette Sniadajewski, Lorraine Eickendorf, Joyce Farley, and Loretta Sterling, and son-in-law, Geno Dankemeyer.


Survivors include son, Eric of Plover; daughter, Rachel "Shelly" (Mike) Panter of Wisconsin Rapids; son, Brian (Carol Mugridge) of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter, Sue (Chuck) Livernash of Plover; grandson, Zach Livernash of Plover.


A Celebration of Life will be held for Carol on Thursday, May 1st at Springville Sports Barn, 2811 Plover Springs Drive, Plover. The celebration will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with food to be served from 5:30 PM until 6:30 PM. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Pliska Family.
