Clarence F. Gibbs

Clarence F. Gibbs, age 85, of Stevens Point, WI passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the Portage County Health Care Facility.

Clarence was born at home on July 29, 1939 to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Zimbauer) Gibbs, in the Town of Sharon. He attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.

Upon his graduation, Clarence worked at Vetters Manufacturing Company, followed by a 33-year tenure at Consolidated Paper Mills-Biron Division as a grinder specialist.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting and raising animals on his hobby farm.  His love for family celebrations and visiting with family and friends, will warm hearts with special memories.

He is survived by his sister, Grace (Donald) Pliska and brother, Lawrence (Grace) Gibbs, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Gibbs.

The family would like to express special thanks to the wonderful and caring nurses and staff at the Portage County Health Care Facility who were his special family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7375 Church St. (Polonia) Custer, WI 54423 with Rev. Mark Miller presiding.  Visitation will be held prior to the Mass, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial to take place in the parish cemetery immediately following services.
