Daniel Patoka Age 86 was called to his heavenly father on June 26, 2023, after a courageous battle with lung and liver cancer. With his wife Bonita (of 62 years) and children by his side, he passed peacefully.
Daniel was born September 29,1936, to Isadore and Frances (Konkol) Patoka in the town of Amherst, Wisconsin. He grew up on the family farm until he left to serve in the United States Army from 1955-58, where he served in Germany in the artillery unit. After serving our country, he moved to Milwaukee and worked for Zien Mechanical Contracting and Friese Mueller Company. He spent his career in construction and plumbing. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Bonita and continued to live in Milwaukee until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed golfing, spending winters in Florida, and spending time with his grandchildren. Dan was an avid Packer, Bucks and Brewers fan, along with supporting his grandchildren's baseball, soccer, track, football games and annual dance recitals through the years.
Dan devoted a great deal of time to volunteering in his community. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus helping out at Special Olympics, Bingo and the annual Tootsie Roll campaign. Best memory: Dan received a $100 dollar bill from a generous donator - it was quite the talk at their meetings. Dan was also a member of the Plover American Legion Post 543 and the Stevens Point Moose Lodge 1572. In addition, he volunteered at his parish, St. Bronislava in Plover.
He is survived by his spouse, Bonita (Kurszewski) Patoka, his children, Michelle (Gerry) Klein, Maria (Randy) Rosicky and Mary Lynn Patoka. Grandchildren: Emma Klein (Nathan Kraft), Ethan Klein (Caitlin Swim), Alexa Rosicky, Sam Rosicky, and Jack Rosicky. Sister-in-law, Lucille Patoka, brother-in-law Joe (Paula) Kurszewski and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Francis Patoka. Brothers: Edwin (Grace) Patoka, Max (Hattie), Harold Patoka, Clifford (Rita) Patoka, and Raymond Patoka. Sisters: Verona (Frank) Stuczynski, Virginia (Ray) Dombrowski, Chesterine (Edmond) Stremkowski, and Margaret (Francis) Dean.
