Daniel Rossiter
April 27, 1970 – April 21, 2024
Mosinee, WI
Daniel Charles Rossiter passed away April 21st surrounded by family and friends. He succumbed after four years valiantly battling cancer.
If you had the chance to meet Dan Rossiter, consider yourself a blessed person. He was the embodiment of joy, of love, of compassion. There was not a person that crossed his path that did not walk away a little happier, a little lighter, and more than likely with a laugh and a smile on their face.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Terri Rossiter of Mosinee, mother Elizabeth Rossiter of Schofield, WI, sister Kelly Rossiter of Denver, CO and an enormous cache of uncles, aunts, in-laws, cousins and friends that counted as siblings and mentors in his mind and heart. Love and Community was Dan's church, his religion, his meaning of life.
Born in Milwaukee, WI in 1970, Dan spent his youth running amok in West Bend, WI. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Civil Engineering. Post college he moved to northern Wisconsin where he met and married the love of his life Terri (Calloway) Rossiter and settled in their house in the woods in Mosinee, WI with their loving dogs and cats.
Dan spent his career as a civil engineer designing various parks, athletic fields, shopping centers, and highway projects around Wisconsin. He also worked overseas in Iraq, Jordan, and Dubai for the military and oil and gas industry. In his leisure time, he enjoyed camping, hiking and home improvement projects. His most recent venture was converting an old ambulance into an RV with his wife Terri. Dan said it proved every day he was not a carpenter. Nonetheless, "Ramble" took them on many adventures across the country.
Our heartfelt thanks to the medical teams at MD Anderson-Houston, ThedaCare, and Dr. Chris Peterson at Aspirus Health for giving us four years of precious time with this amazing human. He lived each day to the fullest, treating it as the gift it was.
In true fashion, Dan never wanted to be an inconvenience to anyone. He reached out to as many friends and family as he could in his last days to let them know they mattered to him and that he loved them. He wanted to celebrate his life while he was still living and did not ask for a gathering after his passing.
Saturday, April 27th would have been Dan's 54th birthday. We ask that you gather together and raise a glass (Jameson, if you have it) to celebrate one of the best people you will ever know.
Slainte Dan! Our hearts are heavy and you are immensely missed.
