Darlene A. Schroda

Darlene Ann Schroda, 77 of Amherst, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 15th, 2025. She was born on August 25th, 1948 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to Thomas and Loretta Fisher.

Darlene attended local schools. During her working career she owned the restaurant, Meadow Inn, and worked at Del Monte. Darlene was proud to be a volunteer driver for 20 years at the Aging and Disability Resource Center. She also cared for aging and disabled people.

Darlene's marriage to the late David Schroda took place on September 18th, 1970 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. The couple later divorced. Darlene met her life partner and fiancé, Gary Kupp, and they have faithfully spent the last 34 years together.

Darlene loved playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and volunteering at her church, St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Darlene was known for always helping others out.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Loretta Fisher; her brother, Richard Fisher; and her ex-husband, David Schroda.

Darlene is survived by her children, Tracy, Tricia, and Troy Schroda; her fiancé, Gary Kupp; her sister, Kathleen Kraklow; her daughter-in-law, Ashley Pagel; and her son-in-law, Yuniel Falcon. She is further survived by her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Kyle Zarecki, Shai Schroda, TaSuan Schroda, Robi Schroda, Rainna Pagel, Kastin Schroda, Katana Schroda, and Kyzer Zarecki.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Darlene will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3rd, 2025 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church, 3200 Plover Road, Plover. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
