David J. Hoogland

David J. Hoogland, age 64, of Stevens Point, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at his residence.  He was born April 18, 1957 in Tripoli, WI, a son of John P. and Jo Anne (Johnson) Hoogland. David graduated from Prentice High School in 1975 and enlisted in the U.S. Army and served Honorably until 1979. After his discharge, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He moved to Stevens Point after school and was employed at several businesses in the area until his death.

David loved to read, listen to Audible books and write poetry.  He would send out quirky email blogs that entertained all.  He enjoyed wearing "snazzy" suits and had outstanding cufflink collection.

He is survived by siblings; Teresa Nation, Catherine Tiffany, James (Linda) Hoogland, Mary Jo (Joseph) Chizek, Victoria (Paul) Head, John (Sandy) Hoogland, and Joyce Guzman; and by numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by; his parents; and his sister Judy Hoogland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 800 4 th Ave., Stevens Point at 10:30AM on Saturday, September 18, 2021 with Rev Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating, followed by Military Honors. Private Family burial will be at a later date in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter Saturday, from 9:00AM until the time of the Mass.
