David J. (John) Schroda

Of Stevens Point, died Monday, November 29, 2021 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa following a short illness. Age 72 David was born October 4, 1949cin Milwaukee, WI.

He was the son of the late John and Catherine (Butkus) Schroda. After school he entered the United States Army on July 15, 1969 in Stevens Point. David served as a PV 1 class while being stationed at Fort Dix in New Jersey. He was honorably discharged on July 9, 1971. He then served a number of years in the United States Army Reserves until July 14, 1975.

His marriage to the former Darlene Fisher took place on September 18, 1970 at St. Peters Catholic Church. The couple later divorced. David worked for Joerns Health Care and UWSP for a number of years, but recently worked as a home care provider for CCLS/ Inclusa.

In his free time David loved shopping, traveling, camping and animals as he had a number of pets of dogs and cats. He was a very social person and loved supporting the local restaurants, and always had a smile on his face and could converse with anyone he met. His most precious time was watching morning cartoons with his grandchildren any chance he got.

Survivors include his children; Tricia Schroda of Plover, Tracy Schroda of West Bend, WI., and his son Troy Schroda of Stevens Point, along with his seven grandchildren whom he adored. Further survived by one sister Linda Landowski of Custer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Larry.
