Dennis R. Lepper
Dennis passed away in his home on Friday, November 29, 2024 under the care of St. Croix Hospice with his loving family at his side. He fought a courageous battle with dementia for several years following a stroke.
Age 81, Dennis was born on July 10th, 1943, in Stevens Point to the late Walter and Ruby (Philbrick). After attending local schools, Dennis entered the US Army in 1964. Through his service, he received the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal before being honorably discharged in 1967.
He married Irene (Polum) on July 6th, 1968, at St. Bartholomew Church in Mill Creek. They shared over 56 years of a happy, loving marriage. Dennis retired in 2000 from Foremost Foods in Plover. After retirement, he held a few part-time jobs, his favorite being a janitor at St. Stephen Elementary School. He really enjoyed the staff and his love for the children showed.
Dennis loved spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren. He had a passion for family gatherings and attending his grandchildren's events. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his best fishing buddy, Ron Molski. He was passionate about gardening and caring for flowers in the yard. He also liked camping, NASCAR, the Brewers and an occasional casino trip accompanied by an old fashioned (or two).
Dennis was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Bronislava Parish, Plover American Legion Post 543, the VFW Plover Post 10262, and the Knights of Columbus Council 13880 of St. Bronislava Parish.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Irene; two sons, Brian Lepper and Troy (Debbie) Lepper; grandchildren, Cole, Kendra, Brooke, Brett Cychosz, and Emalee Petrick; one sister, Judy Molski; one brother, Bob (Barbara) Lepper; sisters-in-law, Louise Lepper and Cathy Lepper; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Steve and Barbara Polum; sisters, Bernice Winkler, Cleaobell Karrer, Arlene Roy, Gwen Schmidlkofer, Beverly Mahne, Joy Cummings, and Janice Koback; brothers, Dwayne, Ernest, Frederick, Gaylord, Edward, and Thomas; and brothers-in-law, Louis Roy, Bob Schmidlkofer, Ray Mahne, Forrest Cummings, Ervin Koback, and Ronald Molski.
