Dennis Raflik,75, of Junction City, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 28, 2025. Dennis was born in Stevens Point, to Stanley and Regina (Dulak) Raflik in May 1949. He lived on a farm West of Stevens Point on Highway C, then moved to a farm on Highway M in Mill Creek, WI.
Dennis attended grade school at Green Meadow one room school in Mill Creek. Once the family moved to Milwaukee, he attended grade schools at St. Gerards and St. Gregory's schools. He then went to high school at Notre Dame High until his senior year when he got a job on a large dairy farm in West Bend, WI. There he graduated West Bend High School.
In 1969, Dennis was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War serving as Sergeant until 1971, he was honorably discharged.
Dennis married the love of his life MaryJane Kurszewski in 1972. They had 3 children, Rob (Shannon), Jenny (Scott) Chandler and Janet (Nick Zywicki). His (6) grandchildren Ashlyn, Aubrey, Braeden, Nolan, Eli and Alayna. Dennis was employed at the Whiting/Plover, Nekoosa, Kimberly Clark and Neenah paper mills (same mill, different names) retiring in 2011.
Dennis loved carpentry, hobby farming, making firewood and fixing just about anything! He was also actively involved at St. Bartholomew's parish in Mill Creek serving as altar boy, usher and countless projects on the building and maintenance committee, most recently the church elevator addition project.
He belonged to the Knights of Columbus of Stevens Point and American Legion Post 6.
Dennis also had a great love of music. Playing several instruments: clarinet, trumpet, concertina and guitar. He loved to dance and play polka music. His favorite country artist was Buck Owens. Dennis is further survived by siblings Adeline (Don) Mrozek, Clairann (Dennis) Kaminski, Philomae Worzalla (friend Jim), Evelyn Rinehart, Ray (Alice) Raflik and Marvin (Karen) Raflik along with multiple brothers and sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane, one granddaughter Alexis Chandler, siblings Mary, Jane (Steve) Polum, Adrieann (Peter) Zarecki, Richard Raflik, Anthony Raflik and Sister-in-law Loretta Klesmit.
The family would like to thank the staff at Compassus Hospice and Aspirus Cancer Center for their loving care and support for our dad.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Dennis name will be established at a later date.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis will be held at 11:00AM Friday March 7, 2025, at St. Bartholomew Parish-2493 County Road M. Rev. Packi will be officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4-7PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00PM at the Pisarski Funeral Home-703 Second Street on Thursday March 6, 2025. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 10:00AM until the time of services.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the parish cemetery.
