Diane E. Engelhardt

July 11, 1955 — September 16, 2021

Junction City

On Thursday, September 16, 2021 Diane Elizabeth Engelhardt (née Byhardt), age 66 of Junction City, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 11, 1955 in Milwaukee, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Selma (Henn) Byhardt.

Diane touched many lives through her 29-year career at Rice Clinic, Ministry Medical Group and Ascension in Stevens Point. She proudly and passionately advocated the patient experience, always leading with compassion and keeping the best interests of patients at heart.

A ray of sunshine to so many, Diane was one of the most kind, caring and understanding people. She was easy to talk to and always made a point of catching up on the latest news in your life. Her gentle and diplomatic guidance was appreciated by loved ones and co-workers.

Diane loved spending time with friends and family, both around the kitchen table and on the water. She cherished many hours spent paddle boarding and kayaking on the Wisconsin River behind her house. Diane loved soaking up the sun, swimming and cocktail cruises at the family cottage on John's Lake. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, cooking, working out, hosting family gatherings and shopping.

She will be deeply missed; Diane was the loving wife of high school sweetheart Thomas J. Engelhardt and dear mother of Thomas (Mindy) of Rudolph and Krista (Kyle) Bretl of Weyauwega; proud grandmother of Justice Kuhn and Courtney Engelhardt. She is also survived by her brothers Roger (Marilyn Corlew), Alan (Marie), David (Pency) and sister-in-law Mary Beth (Donald) Stuedemann. Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held at Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4-7pm on Wednesday September 22, with a service at 7pm. Private interment at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made in Diane's name to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance or the National Volunteer Caregiving Network.
