Schmidt, Dolores M. (nee Crapsi); formerly of Williamsville NY passed away July 29, 2021 at Maple Ridge of Plover Assisted Living, WI at the age of 84.
Dolores was the wife of the late Adolph K. Schmidt, DDS; cherished mother of Bradley M. (with wife Jessica and their children Emma and Lauren), Jeffrey A. (with wife Kathleen and their children Christine, Emily, Stephen, Julia, Rachel, and Natalie) and Wesley L. (with wife Kristin and their children Sydney, Kyra, and Macy) Schmidt; dear sister-in-law of Debbie Conte and beloved aunt of Nicole and Alea Conte.
She is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Clara Crapsi as well as her brother Lewis.
Dolores graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Masters Degree in Mathematics. She taught college math and was a proud lifelong member of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority. She was active in many community groups including book club and tai chi. Since moving to Williamsville in 1972, she was an active parishioner of St. Gregory the Great where she was a lector, eucharistic minister, Great Race supporter and a long-time member of the Bishops Committee, as well as achieving the honor of being one of the yearly "St. Greg's Twelve". She was most proud of her sons, grandchildren and nieces and took great pride and joy in their accomplishments as well as simply spending time with them over a good meal.
Family and friends may call on Friday, October 8 from 4 to 7 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Drive (corner Hopkins Road). Prayers will be offered 9:45 AM on Saturday at Amigone, and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Maple Ridge of Plover for the compassionate care given to Dolores for the past year; namely all of the caregivers and their devoted manager, Kelly, Karen for her delicious meals and Karl for keeping our mother entertained and active.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be offered to The University of Buffalo, Alpha Sigma Tau, or St. Gregory the Great.
