Donald P. Disher
Of Plover, formerly of The Lodge at Whispering Pines in Plover, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 3, 2022 at Arbor View Court assisted living in Wisconsin Rapids.
Age 88 Donald was born December 17, 1933 in the Town of Stockton, He was the son of the late Peter and Nellie (Trzebiatowski) Disher. Donald entered the United States Army on November 24, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI. He was honorably discharged on August 30, 1956 at Ft. Sheridan, IL. Don then served a 6-year obligation to the National Guard and was discharged at a SP4 in October of 1962.
He married Charlotte Sankey on November 27, 1957 in Milwaukee. The couple later moved to the Plover area. His wife Charlotte survives.
Don was a proud member of the UEW Brewery Workers Union #9 and served on the executive committee for the union. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Brewery Credit Union.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Donald's name to St. Bronislava Parish would be appreciated.
In his free time Don enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden and yard and loved his world travels with his wife Charlotte.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte, one brother William (Jodi) Disher
and two sisters; Mary (Clay) Lokken and Marcie (Ernie) Nicholson, and a sister-in-law Karin Disher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Peter Jr, Jerome and Ronald Disher, and three sisters Lucille Krebs ,Sandra Disher and Regina Disher
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M on Friday May 6, 2022 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Rev. Ed Shuttleworth officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's of Mt. Carmel Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 9:30 A.M. on Friday at St. Bronislava Church until the time for mass. There will a rosary at 10:00 A.M. Friday morning.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and guidance while taking care of Don for the past few months.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also all who have loved his appearing".
