Donald E. Worzella, age 79, of 3530 Evergreen Court, Plover, died Sunday January 16, 2022, at is home unexpectedly due to natural causes.
He was born June 7, 1942, in Wisconsin Rapids to the late Leo and Ceil Worzella, he was a 1961 graduate of Assumption High School in Wisc. Rapids.
Then he went on to defend the American dream and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, after graduating from high school. He served for 4 years and was able to see the beauties the world had to offer.
On Oct. 9, 1965, he married Mary Jane (Mandry) at S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Wisc. Rapids.
He attended MSTC and received his degree in Business Administration & Accounting. He was then employed at First National Bank of Wisconsin Rapids as an accountant. Then in 1977 the family moved to Plover where he worked for Schierl Oil & Heating as their accountant until 1983. Upon leaving Scheirl's he started a successful Accounting and Tax preparation business.
Donald & Mary Jane were married for 42 years before Mary Jane was called to her eternal home. He retired in 2015 to enjoy time with family and friends.
He also served many years with the Lions Club of Wisconsin.
He enjoyed vacationing in Aruba, Bowling, Camping at Rustic Woods, Golfing and Pizza, maybe not in that order.
Survivors include his Son: Bryan (Jennifer) Worzella of Stevens Point, Daughter: Kristyn Worzella of Stevens Point, 5 Grandsons: Caleb and Colten Zakrzewski; Dakota, Dylan and Dawson Worzella, Sister: Nancy (Jerry) Kramar of Boulder Junction, Sister-in-Law: Barbara Mandry of Wisc. Rapids, also, Many cousins, relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his love Mary Jane, father, Leo; mother, Ceil; son, Robert; granddaughter, Hannah; father-in-law, Stanley; mother-in-law Beatrice, and his step-father Bernard Slattery.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday Jan. 21, 2022 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. The Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth will officiate. Burial with full military honors will take place in Calvary cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 7 PM Thursday at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home at 2911 Plover Road in Plover. Also, from 9:30 AM until the start of Mass at 10:30 AM on Friday morning at the Church. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
