Stevens Point

Dorothy B. (Roshak) Zmuda

Entered eternal peace at the age of 99 on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in Stevens Point while surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born February 1, 1923 to the late Michael and Mary Roshak.

She moved to Milwaukee where she was employed in the advertising department of Allis-Chalmers. Her marriage to George J. Zmuda took place on September 14, 1946 in Waupaca after his return from WWII.

Dorothy was an accomplished Seamstress, an artist,  a published author of short stories, and a wonderful mother. She had a great sense of humor, an infectious smile, was the life of the party and always willing to pitch in. She loved her family, the outdoors, fishing in Canada, riding her bike, watching documentaries on PBS, reading and watching old movies.

She leaves behind her children and their families to cherish her memories.  Carol Konopacki, Jane (Steve) Duckwitz, Laura (Timothy) Shannon, John, Dorea (Peter) Engebretson, along with seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, a son-in-law Marvin Konopacki, a grandson Michael Engebretson and her nine siblings.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name will be given to PBS WI.  The family would like to mention a special thank you to her in home caregiver Sue Ernst, along with Dimensions Living and Aspirus Comfort Care.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Guardian Angel Cemetery. The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pisarskifuneralhome.com
