Edward "Ed" Cherney, age 92, died peacefully Saturday December 28 at House of the Dove in Marshfield, after a battle with cancer.
Ed was born on July 20, 1932, to the late Anton and Elenore (Stosick) Cherney in Milladore. He attended local schools, graduating from PJ Jacob's in 1951. During high school he worked on his family farm near Milladore.
Following high school, he worked a short time at Consolidated Mill in Wisconsin Rapids before taking over his family farm near Milladore. After retiring from dairy farming in 1993, he started working on a local potato farm for almost 20 years.
While attending a card party, he met his future wife, Nancy Lovse. They married in August 1961 and have 4 children.
Ed loved baseball and was a proud Packer ticket holder during the Lombardi/Starr era. He became an avid collector of toy tractors and was proud to show them off and attended many toy shows in the area. He loved to listen to polka music, especially the Sunday morning Polka show. Puzzle building and word search puzzles became a passion in later years.
Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years Nancy and children Robert (Carrie) Cherney, Ralph Cherney, Beth Cherney, Rita (John) Johnson. Grandchild Michelle, and great grandchildren Miracle and Jrue. Also, many nieces and nephews and was especially close to LuRae (Orin) Sayner, Blair Lorbecki, and Ginger (Tom) Masura.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Betty Lorbecki and Kay Underwood.

Funeral Services for Ed will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 3, 2025, at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home 2911 Plover Road Plover. Deacon Vern Linzmeier will officiate. Visitation on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will follow in the St. Bronislava Parish Cemetery.
