Edward Ferg

March 15, 1946 — January 30, 2022

Edward W. Ferg, 75, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, surrounded by his family, after a valiant fight with leukemia.

Ed was born on March 15, 1946, to Edward and Wilma (Longseth) Ferg, in the Town of Harrison, Wisconsin. He grew up on the family farm and attended local schools. He lettered in high school baseball, basketball, and band where he played the baritone, and was a member of the Alban Jolly Jumpers 4-H and the Future Farmers of America.

Ed had an amazing voice and sang in numerous local bands including The Probes, Sounds of Silence, Silvertones, Road Runners, and Stardust. Among some of his hobbies, Ed raced snowmobiles, was an avid hunter and was a dedicated fan of the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Wisconsin Badgers. He was especially proud of the 25 years he coached for the Plover Whiting Youth Baseball and Softball leagues.

Ed worked for over 35 years driving forklift and was awarded the Wisconsin Forklift Driver of the Year.

He was a man of many words and loved pointing out the beauty of nature to those who knew him. On many weekend mornings in spring, you could find him out at "the forty" planting pine trees. He also loved attending truck & tractor pulls, camping, and cheering for the grandchildren's sporting events.

His memory will be cherished by his wife of 35 years, Patricia (Borski) Ferg, and children Kathy (Nick) Skibba, Brad (Suzette) Ferg, Robert (Sheila) Ferg, Daniel (Jessica) Bemowski, Gerald (Jennifer) Bemowski, and Tracy (Joe) Polarek, and 20 grandchildren: Joshua Skibba, Elizabeth Juliano, Lidia Schmid, Cassi Vincent, Logan Ferg, Avery Ferg, Ryan Ferg, Madison Ferg, Landon Ferg, Alexis Ferg, Payton Ferg, Octavia Ferg, Abigail Bemowski, Alexis Bemowski, Emma Bemowski, Owen Bemowski, Oliver Bemowski, Johanna Polarek, Noah Polarek, and Elijah Polarek, and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Carol (Julian) Merde, Maxine Worth, and Beverly Stanislawski; and one brother, William (Elaine) Ferg, five sisters-in law: Joanne Borski, Barb (Mark) Hansen, Laurie (Tom) Gerrits, Terri Borski, Cindi Borski, and two brothers-in-law, Mike (Linda) Borski, and Scott Borski (Deb Mann), his mother-in-law, Grace Borski Kaufmann, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point.  Funeral Services will be Friday, February 4, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, with burial to follow.
