Edward S. Pozniak, 94, formerly of the town of Hull, died Thursday July 27, 2023, at North Crest Assisted Living in Stevens Point. Edward was born on December 18, 1928, in Coddington Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Stahura) Pozniak. He attended local schools.
His marriage to Mary Jane Kujawa took place on June 23, 1956, at St. Peters Catholic Church, after the marriage the couple settled in the town of Hull. His wife Mary Jane preceded him in death on May 27, 1997.
Edward worked for the Copps Corporation for over 28 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church where he served on the Finance Committee. His faith was very evident as he prayed the Rosary prior to mass each week. He enjoyed Bingo at North Crest, listening to Polka music, cutting firewood, fishing, hunting, camping, spending time in his yard cutting the grass and traveling. His greatest joy was when he was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Ben) Stanislawski, of Rosholt; sons, David (Barbara) Pozniak, of the town of Hull, James (Caroline) Pozniak, of Minocqua and Daniel (Kerrie) Pozniak, of Oklahoma; he is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a daughter, Diane Pozniak-Casto; and three siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 203 Casimir Road, Stevens Point, WI 54481. Rev. John Potaczek will officiate. Burial with military honors will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
