Elizabeth Regina Osowski

August 8, 1934 — September 22, 2024

Stevens Point

Elizabeth Regina Osowski went home to Jesus on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at age 90.

Elizabeth was born to Adolph and Elizabeth (Omernik) Kruzicki on August 8, 1934, in Plainfield, Wisconsin. She was the 4th of 7 children.

She married Stanley Osowski on October 9, 1954, at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, in Rosholt, Wisconsin.

Elizabeth attended St. Adalbert's grade school, then graduated from Rosholt High School in 1952. After Stanley's passing in 1986 and years of homemaking, farming, and raising a family of 7 children, she pursued an Associate's Degree in Word Processing from Mid-State Technical College, graduating with honors in 1988.

Elizabeth worked with excellence after graduation in various office positions, including Haertel Monument and as a claims examiner with a local insurance company until age 62.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and found joy serving as a choir member and prayer leader for many years.

Elizabeth was a creative soul. Her early years found her delving into sewing, crocheting, flower arranging, and music. She taught herself to play piano recreationally and played clarinet in the high school band.

As a mother, she sewed clothes for her children for many years. Creatively patching and lengthening clothing as children grew, and items were passed on to younger siblings was a wonderful gift she possessed and a great blessing to her family.

She was also known for her 'MacGyver-like' skills at solving everyday problems and would probably have a number of patents for her unique solutions, had she pursued them.

Elizabeth had a great sense of humor and would love to laugh with others at the humorous things that seemed to happen only to her.

Her recent years found her looking forward to her weekly salon and social visits with her friend, Jeannie, and keeping her brain sharp with crossword puzzles. In the summer months, she loved her outdoor flowers – almost as much as the deer and rabbits did.

Elizabeth loved Jesus. She prayed for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren daily. There is no doubt her faithful prayers were heard and answered in myriads of ways over the years.

She is survived by her children; Judy (Norbert) Kozikowski, Rick (Nancy) Osowski, Tom (Sharon) Osowski, Janet Osowski, Jim (Michelle) Osowski, Cheryl Grace, and Sandy (Dick) Wedig, 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, and her sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2151 Stanley Street, Stevens Point. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, Rosholt.

Visitation on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.
