Of  Stevens Point passed away late Thursday evening February 11, 2021 at the House of the Dove Hospice Care Center in Marshfield.

Age 88 Betty was born September 5, 1932 in Blenker, WI. She was the daughter of the late Ignatius and Anna (Pongratz) Minch. At the age of 4 she moved to Milladore with her parents, attending school through grade 10, then attended P.J Jacobs High School graduating in 1950 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. During the summers of her Junior and Senior school years she worked at a grocery store.

After graduation she was employed at Brezinski Motors Inc, as an accountant until 1965. She was on the Chrysler Motors Accountant Honor Roll for all 15 years she worked there. In 1965 she went to work for the Travel Shop/Marathon Travel as an accountant  retiring in 1994. Betty loved her co-workers, as they called her their "guardian angel" as she helped them solve many difficult problems. She was given a beautiful guardian angel statue as a retirement gift.

Betty was the most kind and generous person. Always willing to help others any was she could. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.

Betty married Myron "Mike" Wondzell on June 4, 1956 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband Mike preceded her in death on April 30, 2016.

Betty enjoyed gardening and fishing and hunting with her husband Mike. She loved spending time at their cottage in Minocqua for many years. She was an avid reader, loved knitting as she made many prayer shawls for the Shut ins of St. Josephs Parish, and also made pocket clothes for surgery patients at Ascension St. Michaels Hospital. She was a member of the St. Anne's Society of St. Josephs Parish for over 60 years, and also served on the Greif Committee, and was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at St. Joseph Parish.  She was a life member of the  DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Auxiliary and volunteered at Ascension St. Michaels Hospital as a Eucharistic Minister for over 20 years.

Survivors include her sisters; Helen Seubert of Sheboygan, Mary Brilowski, Dorothy Check, Joan (Ralph) Woyak and Kathleen Kostuch all of Stevens Point, Grace David of Sun Prairie and Linda Minch of Minneapolis, M., and her two brothers Ronald (Grace) Minch of Plover and Frances Minch of Rudolph. Further survived by her special god children; Deb Klesmith of Plover, Carla Morreale of California, John J. Wondzell of Wyoming, Shauna Whitman of Hazlehurst, WI, and Ella Adams of Stevens Point., and many more nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mike, her parents, an infant brother Richard, brother in laws Jim Seubert, Joe Brilowski, Ralph Check and Robert Kostuch and a sister-in-law Donna Minch, nephews Robert, Richard and Ryan Check.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 18, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may meet at St. Joseph Church prior to the mass. Masks will be required at the church, and social distancing will be observed. Betty's family would like to extend a special thank you House of the Dove Hospice for their care given to our sister, and to Dr. Pagoria who was Betty's Urologist  (Kidney Dr.) who took special care of Betty.
