Emil John Wojtalewicz loving husband and father, 89, died peacefully on May 23, 2021, at Edenbrook Health Care Center.
Emil was born in the Town of Sharon to Joseph and Katherine (Wisniewski) Wojtalewicz on June 26, 1931. He attended Pulaski School, and as a young man, worked the family farm.
Emil married Angeline Meshak on April 28, 1952. They have one son, David.
Emil and Angeline ran the small family farm with his parents until he went to work on construction for several years. He was also a bartender at The Ritz Tavern in downtown Stevens Point where he made many friends over the years. He later went to work as a custodian in the public schools, and retired as a custodian from SPASH in 2000. Notably, he was voted in as "Pa Homecoming" by staff and students two years in a row!
Emil's interests included gardening, fishing, fixing things around the house, and being outdoors. He loved polka music and enjoyed watching and listening to polka shows on radio and TV.
Emil will be missed greatly by all of those who knew and loved him.
Emil is survived by his wife, Angeline, and his son David (Nancy). He is also survived by his sister, Teresa Losinski, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Emil was preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Katherine Wojtalewicz, his brothers Roman, Ben, Edwin, Joseph, Chester and his twin brother, Emerick, as well as his sisters Marian, Teckla, Emma, Regina, Stella, and Alvina.
