Emily H. Zinda

Emily H. Zinda, age 95, of Rosholt, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Emily was born on July 5, 1926 in Stevens Point, one of 10 children of the late Andrew and Johanna (Ostrowski) Ramczyk.

She attended school at St. Joseph Academy.

On September 21, 1946, the former Ms. Ramczyk was united in marriage to Norman Zinda at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.

After their marriage, Emily worked at Hardware Mutual Insurance Companies (Sentry Ins.) from 1947 to 1951.  In 1951, Norman and Emily purchased a farm in Rosholt where they raised five children.  Emily stayed on the farm until her death.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Sacred Heart Rosary Society for 60 years and the St. Cecilia Choir.  Emily enjoyed dancing, sewing, embroidery, flowers, spending time in the outdoors and dining at the Polonia Cafe. She especially enjoyed being with her family and loved time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Emily opened her home to everyone that would stop and made them feel like family.  Her faith was central in her life as evidenced of her praying the Rosary every day.

She is survived by; her children, Randy Zinda of Indianapolis, IN, Beverly Yach of Rosholt, Sandy Zinda of Rosholt and Doreen (John) Behnke of Rosholt; 6 grandchildren, Lori and Debbie Yach, Lucas and Karleah Edseth and Chelsie and Derek Zinda; four great grandchildren, Amanda, Emilia, Lexy and Damian; daughter-in-law, Jackie Zinda; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Emily was preceded in death by; her parents; husband Norman, in November 2002; son, Frank Zinda; four brothers; five sisters; son-in-law, Joe Yach; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Zinda.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7375 Church St. Custer, WI 54423 at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 29, 2022 with Rev. Mark Miller presiding.  Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point, at 4:00PM concluding with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00PM, on Friday, January 28, 2022.  The Visitation continues at the Church on Saturday, from 10:00AM until the time of the Mass.
