Esther Megal, 96, of Stevens Point, WI passed away peacefully on April 5, 2023 at North Crest Assisted Living Center while under the care of Moments Hospice. The family appreciates the fine care provided during her final days. Esther was born April 10, 1926 in Amherst, WI. She is the daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Sopa) Iwanski.

She worked at Eagle Knitting Mills in Milwaukee, WI prior to her marriage. On June 16, 1951 she married Ambrose Megal at St. Mary's of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher, WI. She moved to the Megal farm where they farmed together and raised seven children during their 48 years of marriage. Ambrose preceded her in death on April 22, 1999; but she continued to drive tractors and help on the farm well into her 80's.

Esther enjoyed traveling to family events. This took her many destinations including her nephew's wedding at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City; she was a chaperone for her daughter's school trip to Washington D.C./Virginia; she attended her grandson's high school graduation in Bismarck, North Dakota; celebrated her granddaughter's college graduation in Boca Raton, Florida; and attended her granddaughter's wedding in Indianapolis, Indiana. She also visited relatives in Las Vegas, Arizona, Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, and countless trips to the Milwaukee area.

Esther is survived by five children: Carolyn (Perry Yaver) Megal, Delray Beach, FL; Robert Megal, Plover, WI; Barbara Megal, Stevens Point, WI, Timothy (Lynn) Megal, Oshkosh, WI; and Mark Megal, Stevens Point, WI. She was a grandmother to five children: Tina Kaetzel, Kayla Kwiatkowski, DeAnna Finnessy, Brandon Megal, and Tanner Megal; and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Betty (Allen) Trzinski, Plover, WI; sister in law Marge Iwanski, Mequon, WI; and brothers; Ernest (Marlene) Iwanski, New Berlin, WI; and Anthony (Ann) Iwanski, Milwaukee, WI. Esther is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Louis and Anna; sister Theresa; brothers Lawrence, Leonard, Alois, and Jerome; son Gari; and daughter Ann.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Esther will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday April 15, 2023, at St. Mary's of Mt. Carmel Catholic church in Fancher. Rev Jerzy Rebacz will be officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM Saturday morning at the church until the time of services. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
