Florence B. Gross

Florence Betty Gross, 84 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 13th, 2025.

She was born on May 27th, 1941 to the late Neufrey and Ester (Scheski) Betro. She grew up in the Stevens Point area and attended local schools. Florence married Kenneth Gross on September 9th, 1984 at Peace United Church in Stevens Point. He preceded her in death in August of 2015. After their marriage the couple settled in the Town of Stockton where they raised their family.

Florence had a rewarding career in nursing at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point, retiring in 2021 on her 80th birthday. Florence always had a special place in her heart for animals. She leaves behind her best friend and loving dog, Lily. Florence loved spending time in her yard and watching the fireflies at night from her porch.

Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken; her parents, Neufrey and Esther Betro; and her 3 brothers, Ernest, Robert, and Leonard Betro.

Survivors include her son, Rick (Paula) Miller of Plover, and daughters, Betty (Eddie) Ciesielski of Buena Vista, and Dawn (Art) Castona of Whiting.

Florence is further survived by her sisters, Theresa (Jim) Jurgella and Judy (Lavern) Zywicki; brother, Danny Betro; and sister-in-law, Loretta Betro.

Florence was a proud and loving grandma. She is survived by her 7 grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Florence will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church, 3200 Plover Road, Plover. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Gross Family.
