Fred Garski, age 63 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1962 to Frank and Christine Garski. He grew up in Plover. Fred graduated from SPASH in 1980. He married the love of his life, Joan, on September 25, 1982. He served in the Army National Guard for 13 years. He completed an electrician degree from Mount Senario College. He was employed at Fleet Farm for 29 years.
Fred was an avid outdoors man, but his passion was fishing. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. He loved to spend quality time with his family, often traveling across the United States to find new places to explore nature and, of course, fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Garski; his brother, Richard Garski; and his brother-in-law, Roger Glodowski.
Fred is survived by his wife Joan (Omernik) Garski; sons, Jason Omernik and Jordan Garski; granddaughter, Haley Omernik; and great grandchildren, Jaxynn, Parker, and Mia McClintock.
He is further survived by his mother Christine (Kawlewski) Garski; his siblings, Marlene Glodowski, Monica (Donald) Moscinski and Ronald (Carol) Garski; his mother-in-law, Edna Omernik; his sister-in-law, Judy (Tim) Burrows; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Fred will be held on Thursday, May 15 at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street. The visitation will begin at 4:00 PM with a sharing of memories and a service beginning at 6:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life for Fred will be held on June 1, from 2:00-6:00pm at the Plover VFW.
