She entered 1 st grade at St. Bronislava school and during the 8 th grade the school burned down. She finished 8 th grade at Roosevelt School and graduated from P.J. High School in 1940.
While at St. Bronislava school she took Hawaiian guitar lessons from Sister DeSalesy, who was Liberace's Aunt. Sister left before Germaine was finished with all her lessons. Germaine did reception work at National Youth Administration in Wausau until they closed. She then worked for Perfex in Milwaukee during World War II and at Hardware Mutual (Sentry Insurance) until her marriage when she then became a home maker.
She fell in love with Adolph Brillowski and they married February 14, 1944, and had six sons and shared 67 wonderful years together until Adolph's passing in 2011.
Germaine did volunteer work for a number of organizations including baking and helping with funerals at St Bronislava Church where she was also a member of the PCCW. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 543 of which she was a lifetime member, and also worked the election polls in Plover. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved the holidays and whenever everyone could get together. She enjoyed traveling, especially the World's Fair in New York. She also loved making wedding cakes, cooking and baking, playing cards with family and friends, bowling, attending family reunions and tending her gardens.
A Memorial in Germaine's name will be established at a later date.
