Gertrude C. Glodowski of Rosholt passed away early Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Plover, with her family at her side. Born on July 4, 1927, in Galloway, WI, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Martha (Trzecinski) Yach. Gertrude attended local schools and married Joseph M. Glodowski on October 20, 1945, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway. After their marriage, the couple settled in the Town of Alban. Her husband Joseph preceded her in death on February 6, 2012. Gertrude was a dedicated farm wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, and family gatherings in her free time.
She is survived by her children: Michael (Bernice) Glodowski of Rosholt, Judy (Stanley Jr) Jakubek of Amherst Junction, Paul (Ruth) Glodowski of Bevent, Jim Glodowski of Rosholt, and Tom (Kim) Glodowski of Custer. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Aggie Kobishop and Carolyn Glodowski, as well as 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; her brother, Chester Yach; and her four sisters, Verona Wanta, Minnie Wanta, Stasia Dudzik, and Grace Laska.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt, with Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. A parish rosary will be said starting at 9:15 AM, with visitation afterwards from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
