Gertrude E. Schulist died peacefully on Wednesday October 27, 2021.
Gertrude was born February 7, 1929, in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Ksionsk) Wroblewski. Gertie grew up on a farm near Stevens Point.
She married Benedict Schulist on November 13, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Polonia. She worked at home for Weber Tackle and raising her children, along with caring for others. She then worked for the Sky Club restaurant as the salad bar cook. Then worked for Sentry Insurance until she retired.
Survivors include two children; Jerry Schulist (LuAnn Rybicki) of Stevens Point, Jayne (George) Matykowski of Cambridge. Son-in-law, Bill Nantell.
Seven grandchildren; Jay (Allison) Schulist, Matthew Schulist, Joshua (Lindsay Sondelski), Jacob Nantell, Benjamin Nantell, Katie Kolz, and Kelsey Ziegler. Great-Grandchildren, Ava and James Nantell, Oliver and Ema Schulist, Nathan and Samual Schulist and Kalina Ziegler.
Also survived by four sisters, Lillian Kozlowski of Green Bay, Gracie Gagas, Rita Schulist, Dorothy (Raymond) Gagas.
Preceded in death by, husband Benedict, her daughter Judith Nantell. Four brothers, Ben, Stanley, Roman, Dominic and one sister Agnes Choate.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 30, 2021, at Holy Spirit Parish 2151 Stanley Street Stevens Point. Rev. Todd Mlsna will officiate. Visitation on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
