Gregory W. Michelkamp passed away on Monday February 22, 2021, surrounded by his family at Abbotsford Healthcare after a long battle with Dementia
Greg was born on November 11, 1933, in the town of Sharon to the late Baldus and Belvina (Gagas) Michelkamp. Greg graduated in 1953 from PJ Jacobs and joined the Army from 1956-1958 and was stationed in Korea as Private 1st class receiving the Good Conduct Medal.
Greg worked for Ellis Stone, Preway and Bakerite and then retired in 1995 from Consolidated Paper in Stevens Point after 35 years.
Greg married Sally J. Cychosz on February 20, 1960 at St Stanislaus Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sister Ann Marie Singleton along with his wife of 61 years Sally and their 5 children Gregory Dale (Mary)Michelkamp, Doreen(Cliff Pacocha), Kevin (Nancy) Michelkamp, Tammy (Carl Gollon), and Michele (Scott Janz).
5 grandchildren Kalie (Nick) Kubowski, Jennifer (Tyler) Salmeri, Branden Michelkamp, Megan Feltz, and Trevor (Samantha)Feltz
3 step grandchildren. Justen(Kayla) Pacocha, Josh (Steph) Pacocha and Jake Pacocha
3 Great Grandchildren Noah Feltz, Peyton Kubowski , Emma Feltz and a 4th coming in May Baby Girl Kubowski. 5 Step Great Grandchildren. Cooper Pacocha, Annastacia Pacocha, Brady Pacocha, Adeline Pacocha and Antoinette Pacocha. Greg has joined his parents Baldus and Belvina along with his brothers Emil, Harry and Clifford in Eternal Peace
Through his life Greg enjoyed Carpentry and Masonry work with his brother Emil. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing during vacations up north and working in the yard .
He was a member of the Holy Name Society at St Bronislava's Parish and the Plover VFW Post 10262 where he enjoyed working at the Breakfasts, Fish Fry's and Steak Nights.
Greg and Sally spent their retirement together and with friends at the VFW and breakfast at Southpoint.
We want to Thank the staff at Abbotsford Healthcare for the exceptional care they provided Greg these past months. We were treated like family and Greg left them with some wonderful memories. He is now joining family, friends and his furry little pal "Cuddles" free of pain and full of memories. In lieu of flowers memorials in Greg's name will be established at a later date.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Greg will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday February 26, 2021 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church 3200 Plover Road Plover. Rev. Ed Shuttleworth will officiate.
Burial with full military honors to follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home 2911 Plover Road Plover and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Masks will be required at the funeral home and church.
