Griffin Steven Reit

Griffin Steven Reit, 11, of Wausau, WI gained his wings on May 27, 2025.  Griffin was born on August 16, 2013 to Amber Borski and David Reit II at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI.

Being the rough and tough boy that Griffin was, he enjoyed multiple "dare devil" types of activities.  Griffin absolutely adored water. Whether it be wheeling through the fountains on the 400 block, going out on the boat with his sister, participating in wild water balloon fights, or swimming with friends and family, Griffin's smile was always big and bright.

He loved anything fast, especially watching and cheering on his favorite race car driver Luke Fenhaus, whether it be from home on T.V., or while hanging out in the pits next to Luke's race team. He also enjoyed many outdoor activities including snowmobiling and four wheeling with his sisters, taking walks along the river with Mom by WoW, spending time at JoJo's Jungle, participating in the my Team Triumph running program with partner Edward "fast Eddy" Arms, and attending field trips to the school forest with his classmates.

Griffin also enjoyed multiple indoor activities including watching movies, bowling, spending time hanging out with his sisters, snuggling with his fur babies, playing games, and taking naps when being read to (lol, whenever you would read to Griffin, he would fall asleep).

Griffin is preceded in death by his sisters Danielle Clark and Gracy Borski; Great Grandparents William (Lucille) Weronke, Elmer Edseth and Audrey Judson.

Griffin is survived by Mother, Amber Borski, Father, David Reit II, siblings Jesse Clark (Abby Spaulding), Shannon Clark, Avery Clark (Evan Groshek), Aubrey and Autumn Borski, and Grandparents, William Jr. (Leann) Weronke, and David (Karen) Reit.

He is further survived by multiple Aunts, uncles and cousins including Shane (Tammy) Weronke, Leslie McGowan (Shane Kole), Beth Reit-Kolinski (Michael), Stacy Reit-Pringnitz (Dave), Edward, Ritchie, Sam and Matt Reit, Cole and Aidan Weronke, and Davis, Thomas, and Delia Kole, amongst many other relatives and close family friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the kind words, loving support, time, and donations that has been offered during this time.  A special thank you to Tami Braun (Griffin's Para) for loving Griffin like family and taking such good care of him throughout the many school years.   Also, a very special thank you to all the medical staff, nurses and physicians that have participated in Griffin's care over the past 11 years.  Without your love, dedication and support Griffin's life would not have been as profound and special as it was.

A Celebration of Life for Griffin will be held on Sunday June 22, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., location, 231046 Spur Lane, Wausau, WI. We welcome all friends and family to join. In honor of Griffin's favorite color, we ask for all attending to wear green.
