Henry M. Kaminski Jr. "Hank" of Junction City, WI passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 19, 2022, at Aspirus Hospital with his loving daughter by his side.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Henry are his father Henry Kaminski Sr. and Martha Panko. He was born in Junction City, WI on October 8, 1936 and went on to graduate from Rudolph High School in 1954.
Henry joined the United States Air Force on July 19, 1956 where he was a weapons control systems mechanic and received an honorable discharge in July 1962. At the close of the Viet Nam war Henry went on to serve in the United States Navy as an electronics technician and received his second honorable discharge in August 1976.
On April 16, 1970 Henry married the love of his life Jean Wilkins in Chicago where the two love birds ate hot dogs and watched planes take off. In 1977 they bought their first and only home together in Junction City. This was the home where they raised their three children and where Henry resided for the past 52 years.
Henry retired in March 2000 from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point where he worked for 25 years in Information Technology. The University is where he witnessed many changes in electronic maintenance and technology in general. One of his most significant achievements was his involvement in planning and installing the campus CCTV system which is still in use and in some ways laid the groundwork for the fiber network they use today.
Besides his children, Henry's grandchildren were his pride and joy. His GRAND-babies as he called them, were the people that he loved most. He talked very fondly of each one of them and made certain every Birthday and Christmas they received something extra special in the mail from their grandpa Hank.
Henry also had a big heart for dogs. He rescued multiple cocker spaniels over the past 20 years. Some that had cancer and others who were just broken and needed a good home.
Henry is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Jean and loved ones that will miss Henry greatly are his daughter Melissa Wilke (Dean Van Order), daughter Michelle Offerdahl and grandchildren Abigail, Michael, Rebekah, Allison, Emma, and Anderson.
Henry will be missed greatly and by greatly, I mean every single day!
