Irene B. Helm

Irene B. Helm, 98 of Stevens Point, died Sunday May 15, 2022, at  home surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care. Irene was born on April 25, 1924, in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Laura (Groshek) Bronk. She attended local schools.

Her marriage to Carl Helm took place in Stevens Point on April 9, 1971. Her husband Carl died on November 13, 1985. Irene worked in Milwaukee for 20 years. Locally she served as a crossing guard, still working up until her late 90's. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gambling, polka dancing and taking her beloved dog snoopy for walks.

Survivors include her son Richard (Cindy) Morales of Florida. Three grandchildren,  six great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Beverly (Adolph) Betro and Donna (Art) Kliesmith. One brother, Martin (Sandy) Bronk. Brother-in-law, Earl Miller.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Avis (Murnane) Newby and Janet Miller.

Catholic service for Irene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday May 20, 2022, at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home 2911 Plover Road Plover. Her nephew Deacon Todd  Hoerter will officiate. Visitation on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the St. Bronislava parish cemetery.
