Irene E. Zblewski:
Age 88. Town of Alban, Rosholt, WI died Wednesday morning, September 15, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Irene was born November 11, 1921 in the Town of Sharon. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Clara (Stankowski) Gabor.
As a young woman, Irene worked in Milwaukee for Cutler and Hammer during World War II making batteries and gun triggers.
Her marriage to Stanley Zblewski took place on July 21, 1945 at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Rosholt.
After their marriage, the couple settled in Rosholt, moving to Milwaukee in 1949 and then returned to Rosholt in 1957.
Together Irene and Stanley farmed for over forty years in Rosholt until their retirement in 1971. Stanley preceded her in death on April 12, 2002.
Irene was also a homemaker who loved baking, flower gardening, playing bingo and crocheting. Her most precious time was spent with her family enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irene was a member of the St. Adalbert's Rosary Society.
Survivors include four daughters: Barb (Dewey) Perron of Plover, Jan Cunningham of Longmont, CO, Linda (Carl) Garski of Rosholt and Betsy Zblewski of Stevens Point; seven sons: Mike (Lynda) Zblewski of Big Canoe, GA, Don (Barbara) Zblewski and Jerry (Judy) Zblewski both of Rosholt, Jeff Zblewski and Tony (Jan) Zblewski both of Plover, Martin (Ann) Zblewski of Stevens Point and Kenny (Karyn) Zblewski of Tracey, CA.
Further survived by twenty-four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, three brothers: Clarence (Bonnie) Gabor, Emil (Jean) Gabor and John (Jean) Gabor all of Milwaukee.
Her sisters-in-law: Agnes (Stanley) Gagas of Oak Creek, Evelyn Zblewski and Mary Blaski of Stevens Point and a brother-in-law: Edwin Gagas of Milwaukee, along with many nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband: Stanley, two grandsons, one great-grandson, a brother: Harry and three sisters: Stella Gagas, Theresa Kurzewski and Cecelia Kizewski. One son-in-law: Alan Cunningham.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 18, 2010 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish Cemetery. Family and Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home of Stevens Point, and from 9:00 AM Saturday at St. Adalbert's Church until the time of mass.
